A young Italian woman, now living in Queensland Australia, has taken to social media in a bid to find her north-east descendants.
This stunning house was were Jessica Portararo’s great grandmother Elinor Farquhar Thomson, along with her sister, Mary Teresa Farquhar Thomson, grew up before moving to Australia.
The sisters moved there when their mother re-married following the death of their father at a young age.
The family merged with the Barclays – a common name in the Ellon area.
Jessica found the photos of this grand family home when she was given items that belonged to her grandmother.
The old sepia photos (below) show the house from decades ago, but there was also a newer photo (above) showing the house in full colour.
With a large front yard, dominating pillar-entrance and a hint of salmon pink in the granite, it’s pretty identifiable… Can you help Jessica?
