Striking images of the Moray landscape taken by visitors of a popular whisky festival will go on display later this month.

The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival took place at venues throughout the area between late April and early May.

One of the items on the programme is a picture contest sponsored by the Benromach distillery in Forres.

Photographs were entered in three categories this year – icons of Speyside, Speyside in monochrome and flora and fauna of Speyside.

And now the winning entries – which include images of Penny Brig, over the Spey at Aberlour and Cummingston beach – will go on display in Aberlour Library from June 15.

Festival chairman James Campbell said: “Not only does this competition help raise the profile of the Spirit of Speyside event, but it gives amateur photographers the chance to showcase their work to the public.

“The exhibition is a great chance to see some truly fantastic images of Speyside, and it’s not to be missed.”

Hundreds of visitors descended on the area for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival this year, and enjoyed more than 400 events including live music, craft shops and distillery tours and tastings.

As well as celebrating the vast array of malt distilleries in Moray, the festival sought to crown its best.

This year the winner of the 12-year-old and under category was Strathisla 12, while the title for malts aged 13 to 20 years went to Aberlour 18.

In the 21-year-old category GlenSpey 21 topped the poll.

The photograph display can be viewed during normal library opening hours, which are from 10am-noon on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and from 2.30pm-5pm and 5.30pm-8pm on Tuesday and Thursday. It will run until June 25.
