An offshore helicopter sparked a full emergency at Aberdeen International Airport this afternoon.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the airport after concerns were raised for an incoming CHC Scotia-run helicopter at 2.55pm.
The EC-225 model aircraft had two crew and four passengers on board.
It was coming into Aberdeen from an offshore platform when a cockpit light went off, triggering the emergency response.
Three fire appliances, one from Dyce and two from North Anderson Drive, attended but the helicopter landed safely at 3.20pm.
A spokeswoman for CHC-Scotia said: “A cockpit light was illuminated so they returned as a matter of protocol and the airport alerted the emergency services.
“As you’d expect it will be inspected before it returns to service.”
A spokeswoman for Aberdeen International Airport said: “It had six people onboard and landed safely at 3.20pm. It was coming in from offshore.”
A police spokeswoman said: “We were made aware of concerns for an aircraft coming into land, it came in to us just before 3pm.”
