Morayvia’s campaign earned support from residents of all ages and last night one of its youngest backers expressed his excitement that a Sea King was returning to the region.
Callum Main, a primary one pupil at Findlochty school, donned a specially downsized RAF pilot costume for the gathering.
The five-year-old aviation fan said: “I’m looking forward to getting a shot of sitting in the helicopter, and I really like all the different types of Sea Kings.
“My favourite Sea King is the Army one because it has guns on it.”
To help raise funds for the purchase of the iconic copter Callum designed a mug which is now on sale at the Morayvia base.
His creation depicts a bright yellow Sea King rescuing a struggling casualty from the sea, with a lifeboat in the background.
