An Elgin-based bouncy castle hire company has moved to assure families about the safety of its attraction after a Fife firm’s inflatable slide blew away among high winds, injuring several children.
Jump for Joy Moray cancelled two bookings on Saturday in the face of adverse weather.
The company said customers were “disappointed”, but the move proved prudent when later that day it emerged that a strong gust of wind had blown an large inflatable slide across a Fife park.
Yesterday Jump for Joy Moray co-owner Nikki Stewart said safety had to be the paramount concern.
Mrs Stewart, who runs the company with husband Andrew, said: “We won’t perform outdoors events if winds are forecast to be above 20mph.
“On Saturday we had two outdoors birthday parties we needed to cancel, and though that was disappointing for our customers we must put safety above everything else.”
