A group of Moray cyclists are gearing up for a fundraising journey to Scotland’s most northerly point.
Four Forres men will get on their bikes and pedal all the way to John O’Groats on a mission to raise funds for research into prostate cancer.
The men will begin their 260-mile round trip on Saturday, June 20, and hope to arrive back in Forres the following day.
The cyclists are Doug Cowie and his son Neil, Ian Wilde and Carlo Miele.
The Rotary Club of Forres has helped stage and promote the event, and will hold a reception to welcome the men home following their trek.
Forres Rotary president Andy Wardley said: “A number of our club members, as is true of everyone in the community, have been touched by cancer – including prostate cancer.
“We’re delighted to show our support for the team in their endeavours and to give the Forres community the chance to support them too.
“It is especially poignant that these men will be raising awareness of prostate cancer on the weekend of Fathers Day, which is June 21 this year.”
Other Rotary Clubs across the UK will also be holding cycling events to mark Fathers Day and raise awareness for Prostate Cancer charities.
The Forres club will be collecting at the town’s Tesco on Saturday, June 20, for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, a world-leading innovation centre which pioneer new treatments to combat the disease.
