A 66-year-old man has died after a car accident in Shetland involving a 4×4 towing a caravan.
The man was the driver of a silver Kia Picanto which collided with a Toyota RAV4 on the A970 in Cunningsburgh just before 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
The driver and two passengers with the Toyota, which was towing the caravan, escaped without injury.
Police have confirmed that the road will remain closed today whilst an investigation is carried out by the specialist road policing unit, who have travelled to the islands from Dingwall.
Local diversions via Aithsetter are in place and will be managed by officers from Shetland.
A spokesman for the force said: “If anyone has any information about the incident or any other relevant details prior to the collision, they are encouraged to contact police on 101.”
