Lifeboat crews in Shetland were kept busy on Sunday evening as two yachts ran into trouble.
A 36ft yacht with two people on board had to be towed to safety after it ran aground just off Cullivoe, Yell.
The vessel, named Calico Martlet, put out a mayday call to Shetland Coastguard and Aith lifeboat was launched at 7.55pm but upon arrival, a local fishing boat had managed to tow the yacht off the bank.
The yacht was then berthed alongside the pier at Cullivoe by about 8.20pm and no rescue helicopter was required.
Lerwick lifeboat was also called out at 9.09pm to tow a yacht with five people on board into Lerwick Harbour. The boat, named Flying Swiss V, was en route to Unst but its engine failed off the coast of Setla.
A Shetland Coastguard spokeswoman said that the crew tried to repair the boat but were unsuccessful and sailed back to Lerwick to meet the lifeboat crew.
