A man was arrested after police swooped on a house in a Moray village yesterday.
Officers arrived in a van at the house in Dufftown around 6am.
A 51-year-old man was detained and is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.
Locals said uniformed and plain clothes officers spent several hours searching the property after the man was arrested.
They were spotted removing boxes of belongings, including computers.
A police spokeswoman said: “We carried out a warrant at the property in Dufftown in relation to an ongoing investigation, and a 51-year-old man has been detained.”
One local described the occupant of the house as “a loner”.
He added: “I’ve spoken to him in passing and he seems a nice lad, but the man is a loner.
“The police took a lot of stuff out of the house, there were at least two computers removed.”
