The man was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital following the accident
A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after coming off his machine on a Shetland road.
The accident happened on the B9074 road close to Scalloway at about 2.45pm this afternoon.
The man, who is in his 30s, has been taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick by road ambulance and a police spokeswoman confirmed that his injuries are “not thought to be life-threatening”.
An ambulance spokesman said that the man had a suspected back injury and is in a stable condition.
The road was closed to allow the local council to clear up any debris.
