Beloved by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, Balmoral Castle has remained a favourite residence for The Queen and her family every summer.
Balmoral Castle and the original estate were bought for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852 and have been handed down through their descendants, and today is the traditional holiday home for The Queen and members of her family.
With The Queen currently in residence at Balmoral, here’s a look back at some of the memorable moments the Royal Family have spent at their Scottish retreat.
1951
