A north-east woman is offering a £1,000 reward for anyone who can help catch the person she claims stabbed and sexually violated her horse.
Zoe Wright, from Maud, claims that her 18-year-old retired show jumper, Blaze, was “stabbed twice in the chest and sexually violated” in her field in New Pitsligo, between August 16/17.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident. A police spokesman said: “We were called to the incident in New Pitsligo in relation to an injured horse and are carrying out inquiries.”
Ms Wright, 30, has issued an emotional appeal over social media, explaining that her horse, a family pet, had to be put down after the incident.
Ms Wright believes that someone must know something about the incident and encouraged anyone who can help to contact the police on 101.
