Hundreds of people living in part of the Western Isles have been told to boil their tap water after samples flagged up problems with the quality of supply.
Around 230 properties in the Callanish area of Lewis have been been issued a warning by Scottish Water on the advice of the public health consultant at NHS Western Isles.
Water samples flagged up a small deterioration in the normal quality of the supply.
Villagers in Linshader, Garynahine, Breasclete, Callanish and Tolsta Chaolais are urged to boil their water before cooling for drinking, preparing food, disinfecting baby feeding equipment and cleaning teeth.
The water can still be used for bathing and washing, laundry and flushing the toilet.
