Eager readers will descend on Moray later this month for a festival celebrating the written word.
The Spirit of Moray Book Festival will take place at Elgin Library from next Tuesday.
Already readings from TV presenter Kirsty Wark and crime writer Ann Cleeves have sold out.
But several other scribes are lined up to visit the area over the course of the five-day event to discuss their work with fans.
Anstruther-born poet and novelist Andrew Greig will discuss his latest book, Fair Helen, at the library next Tuesday.
On Friday, September 18, Andrew Martin will mark the 100th anniversary of John Buchan’s Thirty-Nine Steps by discussing its enduring appeal at the venue.
Among others, Egyptologist Lesley Glaister, cookery writer Sue Lawrence and crime writer James Oswald will also take part.
The festival’s full programme is available at www.moray.gov.uk/moraybookfestival, and tickets can be purchased from Elgin Library.
