Emergency services were called to the property on the Main Street in Finstown at 1.44pm. A fire service spokeswoman was unable to give details on the fire beyond saying the house was “well alight”. Two fire crews from Stromness and another from Kirkwall are fighting the blaze using three main jets. Police have also been made aware of the fire.
