This is the moment an irate rugby fan was told he couldn’t buy a scarf because he was using a Scottish banknote.
Peter Mechan posted the video online after he was denied the purchase by Rugby World Cup Shop staff.
Mr Mechan claims he to buy a commemorative scarf after watching Fiji beat Uruguay 47-15 in Milton Keynes on Tuesday.
Since the video was shared online, he has received an apology after making an official complaint to the RWC Shop.
A spokesman for the RWC Shop stressed the staff made an innocent mistake.
He said: “This has been a miscommunication at one of our outlets. It is an isolated incident and we have apologised to the customer concerned.
“We are sorry if it has offended anyone. It is certainly not our policy to not accept Scottish currency and staff and management have been briefed to that end.”
