The coastguard in Benbecula said the device was found on a the beach at Baleshare on North Uist. The unmanned Mirach 100/5 device is used by the armed forces as a training target for weapon systems. It was cordoned off before being removed by a coastguard team. Benbecula coastguard said that if anyone finds anything suspicious suspicious on the shoreline then they should call 999 and not attempt to move them.
