Nairn County secured the Highland League points by beating Huntly 1-0 thanks to a 24th-minute strike from Conor Gethins.
The kick-off was delayed by 10 minutes as both the Huntly team bus and referee Craig Wilson were delayed en route to Station Park by an accident on the A96.
Huntly goalkeeper Andrew Pennycook pulled off two fine early saves, first blocking Tony Wallace’s point-blank effort and then a ferocious Alan Pollock drive as County pushed for the opener.
Nairn opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Gethins beat Pennycook with a 12-yard angled drive .
In the 70th minute Pennycook again spread himself to deny Wallace
and two minutes later County number one Calum Antell made a tremendous double save to stop efforts from Aaron Scoular and
David Booth.
