Car bursts into flames on Scottish motorway

A car has burst into flames on one of Scotland’s busiest roads.

The Vauxhall Corsa was passing Glasgow city centre on the M8 shortly before 1pm when the fire started.

Dramatic pictures, taken from Glasgow Royal Infirmary, show the blaze near the Townhead junction on the M8.

One person is believed to have been taken to hospital.

The blaze caused serious delays on the road, with two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane closed.

The fire has now been put out and the car is currently being recovered but delays are still expected.
