Rivers in the North-East will peak overnight into tomorrow morning, experts have said.
A flood alert for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire was issued by the Scottish Environment and Protection Agency this afternoon.
A flood warning – flooding is expected – has been issued for Aberdeen, Kintore, Inverurie, Ballater and Maryculter.
Tonight SEPA issued an update for the River Dee through Aberdeen.
It said from Sunday into Monday levels would remain high.
“On Monday morning, flooding to low lying areas adjacent to the River Dee is expected, possibly extending to the Garthdee area and nearby residences and retail park.
“Flooding in Riverside Drive is also possible on Monday. Peak water levels are expected on Monday morning around 10am. Levels are not expected to be as high as those experienced on the 30th of December 2015.”
North-East rivers will peak overnight and into the morning
