Cove Rangers will have home advantage against either Forres Mechanics or Fort William in the quarter final of the Breedon Aggregates Highland League Cup after edging past Wick Academy in a seven-goal Harlaw Park thriller.
The holders came back from 3-2 down to win the tie with a brilliantly-taken double from former Don Jonny Smith, the second coming from an unstoppable 25-yard free kick.
Man-of-the-match Smith said: “It was a bit of a rollercoaster as Wick are a quality team. I was a re-match of last year’s final which we won 4-0 and we always knew it was going to be a tough one.”
