Stretch of A90 in Aberdeenshire closed for health and safety

Motorists are experiencing delays after a section of the north-east’s busiest roads had to be closed.

One lane of the A90 northbound near Newtonhill is closed for half a mile while repairs are carried out to a broken water main.

A  Scottish Water spokesman said the lane had to be closed for “health and safety reasons.”

The water main in need of repair is a 3” water main near the dual carriageway and a close to a gas main.

Water supply has not been affected.

Repairs began yesterday.
