Motorists had to slow down and avoid the swan as they approached Junction 1A, near Polmadie Road. The swan took to the motorway shortly before 10am. All three lanes were restricted for about 15 minutes while police captured the bird. Pictures from Traffic Scotland showed the officers placing the swan in the boot of their patrol car. The bird’s condition is not yet known.
