A woman has been cut free after a three vehicle road accident in the Western Isles.
The incident happened on the A859 Stornoway to Leurbost road at about 7.40am.
A police spokeswoman said three cars had been involved and firefighters had cut a woman free from her vehicle.
She has since been taken by ambulance to Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway where she is believed to have suffered a leg injury.
Other people involved in the incident have also been taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road was blocked immediately following the accident but one lane has since opened.
The vehicles involved are due to be recovered.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said that two crews from Stornoway and another from Shawbost had attended and had used cutting equipment to free the casualty.
