Police appeal after four seriously injured in A96 crash

Police in Elgin are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the A96 near Lhanbryde at the Urquhart junction, Moray.
The incident happened at around 4pm on Wednesday 24 February 2016, and involved a red Vauxhall Corsa and a German registered white Opel Corsa.
The Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident.
A 29 year old man and a 23 year old woman, both from Germany, who were travelling in the white Corsa suffered serious injuries. A 24 year old man and a 25 year old woman who were travelling in the red Corsa also suffered serious injuries.
The 29 year old man was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, while the other casualties were taken initially to Dr Grays Hospital, Elgin but later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Sergeant Colin Matheson said “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles before to the collision to get in touch with us. Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
