Forty-two acres of grass and heather has been affected by the blaze in Kirkabister, North Nesting, this afternoon. Two fire appliances from Lerwick and another from Brae attended the fire in Kirkabister after receiving the call at 1.30pm. Firefighters used beaters and spades to extinguish the blaze by 3.25pm. It comes after a fire spread through 70 acres of land in Sandness on Thursday.
