A group of motorcyclists determined to raise money for military veterans say their efforts have been boosted after receiving a trailer to carry their equipment.
Moray members of Legion Scotland’s riders section collect cash for the charity by attending various motor shows across the north on their impressive machines.
However, they have struggled to ferry their kit with them to some events and members have had to sacrifice their bikes to drive their fundraising paraphernalia about.
Fundraiser Donna Lockyear said that meant they often had less motorcycles to showcase, and stood less chance of catching the eye of potential donors.
When Elgin caravan supplies firm S&D Harper learned of the group’s predicament, owner Stuart Harper decided to gift members a trailer worth £500.
Ms Lockyear said the generous donation would make “a big difference” to their efforts.
She said: “Mr Harper said he wanted to support veterans and help us any way he could.
“We try to attend as many events as possible, and now we can all do that on our motorbikes.
“With this, we have a really easy way of transporting our information boards and gazebo, and the merchandise we sell to raise money for Legion Scotland.”
Moray riders, who are affiliated with Legion Scotland’s Highlands and Islands chapter, will have their motorbikes on display at several summer events.
They will attend at Elgin Rotary Club’s Motorfun celebration in the town’s Cooper Park on Sunday, June 5 and the 20th annual Thunder in the Glens festival in Aviemore at the end of August.
