A leading cancer charity is calling for people across the north-east to raise funds through a local fun run.
Macmillan Cancer Support is looking for runners to tighten up their laces for the Baker Hughes 10K next month.
The charity needs 50 people to tackle the run on May 15 and raise cash for vital cancer services.
Senior fundraising manager Jennifer Mitchell, said: “The majority of people in Aberdeen and the north of Scotland have been affected by cancer, whether they have been diagnosed with it themselves or know someone who has been.
“A lot of people rely on Macmillan, but we need to remember that the charity relies on local people to raise the money it needs to continue its work. Macmillan is not government funded and 98% of the donations we receive is down to the generosity of the general public.
“I’d urge anyone who thinks they are fit enough to take on this challenge to sign up and raise cash to help Macmillan.”
