A north-east singer has no fear of failure as she gets ready to perform at Aberdeen Fashion Week.
Vocal powerhouse Cameron Jay will be showcasing her talent at the event this weekend, with the city chanteuse highlighting her debut EP Fearless.
Her performance follows an appearance in hit theatre show Granite, where she donned traditional attire to tell the story of Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old held a special launch of Fearless, which raised about £1,000 for Cash for Kids and Friends of Anchor.
She is no stranger to recording, but admits the new collection of songs, which was self-financed, took some time to fall into place.
She added: “I’m very particular about the quality of my work. There are five songs and it took me about three years to do it.”
Ms Jay said she was going through “a lot of hurt and pain” when writing the record and had drawn from her personal experience to create the EP.
She explained: “I feel like my music is relatable to people. Usually I have done a lot of covers, I have always been singing people’s songs.
“It’s definitely good to hear your own music and to write your own music and the whole project was a lot of fun to put together.”
She is keen to bang the drum for local musicians and insisted there was a huge amount of talent in Aberdeen.
Ms Jay said: “I’m really excited to be part of Aberdeen Fashion Week.
“It’s another chance for me to perform until I take a wee break from performing before I have my baby.
“The Aberdeen music scene is the underdog of Scotland at the moment.
“There’s a lot on offer in Glasgow and Edinburgh. But I think people in Aberdeen have a lot of talent to show, it’s just getting that platform to showcase their talents.”
