Police are hunting a man who indecently exposed himself to a passer-by while parked at the side of a busy Moray trunk route.
Officers say the driver, who was in a white van at the time, had stopped in a lay-by between Elgin and Forres when he flashed another man walking past.
Now police are urging any motorists with dashboard cameras to come forward to help them track down the culprit.
The incident took place on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness route, near Alves, between 2pm and 3pm last Wednesday.
Constable Lisa Gauld said: “We are appealing for information or footage of the A96 near Alves from anyone who was driving the road between 2pm and 3pm last Wednesday.
“We have received a report of an incident involving the male driver of a white van, who was parked in the lay-by near to the village.
“He is believed to have indecent exposed himself to a man who was out walking.
“We are appealing for anyone who recalls seeing a white van, or has dashboard camera footage of that stretch of road during that time, to get in touch with us.”
Last night, Heldon and Laich ward councillor Chris Tuke said it could be tricky to track down the culprit due to the high number of white vans on the roads, but urged motorists to come forward.
“There are a lot of white vans on the road, they are very common.
“And that person could have been coming from anywhere along the A96, so this investigation could be a tricky one.
“That said, I do hope that anybody that does know anything comes forward to contact the police.
“This is very unusual for the area, it’s not something we want happening here.”
