A full emergency was declared at Stornoway Airport after a private aircraft reported a problem mid-flight.
The plane landed safely at the airport after being granted priority status.
It is understood that the aircraft reported a problem with one of its engines while in flight.
It was met on the ground at Stornoway by fire crews scrambled as a result of the emergency.
A spokeswoman for Highlands and Islands Airports confirmed the incident which happened just after 1pm.
She said: “A private aircraft landed safely after requesting a priority landing at Stornoway Airport. The aircraft currently remains at Stornoway Airport awaiting engineering services.”
