Police are probing after thieves smashed their way into another Aberdeen hair salon at the weekend.
Allure Hair and Beauty on Craigiebuckler Avenue is the third city salon to have been targeted in just two weeks.
Two raiders broke into the West End salon at 12.40am on Saturday.
GHD straighteners and hairdryers, worth hundreds of pounds, as well as cash were taken in the latest robbery.
The thieves, who arrived on a motorcycle, left the engine running while they smashed the front window of the premises with two large rocks.
Neighbours alerted police and owner Julia Brand, 42, of Kingswells, arrived at the salon shortly after.
She said: “There was glass everywhere.
“I was really upset and angry.
“I have been here 18 years and I’ve never had anything like this before.”
Despite the raid she managed to open for business by about 11am on Saturday, having only to cancel a few early appointments.
She said: “The main thing is we are open for business – we’re not going to let them stop us.
“We don’t want to let our clients down.”
Officers investigating the incident said they were “keeping an open mind” as to whether this latest incident was linked to two other recent raids at Aberdeen salons.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Beattie said: “Officers are following several positive lines of inquiry in relation to this incident, however I would still urge anyone who thinks they might be able to help to get in touch.
“Crimes of this nature will not be tolerated and it goes without saying the huge distress and financial impact they can have on their victims, mainly people who are simply trying to run a business.
“In addition there is the added unnecessary costs and inconvenience that comes with the damage caused through no fault of their own.”
Last Monday, police were called to Tek-nique Hair Design on the city’s Hollybank Place after thieves smashed the window and made off with hundreds of pounds worth of GHD straighteners.
The previous week, thieves used a sledgehammer to break through a wall into Beautyklicious salon on Rosemount Viaduct before stealing £3,000 of equipment and stock.
A police spokeswoman said businesses concerned about security could speak to a crime prevention officer for tips and advice on keeping their property safe by contacting 101.
