Kincardine and Mearns Citizens Advice has opened a second bureau following the success of its Laurencekirk-based service.
Outreach worker, Helen Brodie, unveiled the new facility last night, creating an outreach centre in Inverbervie for residents concerned about accessing help.
She said: “The outreach services provide an opportunity to bring our comprehensive, free, confidential and impartial advice service into the community.
“This means people don’t have to travel to access help, which itself can be difficult and costly to many living in the area.”
Citizens advice bureaux help with a range of issues, including employment, housing, debt, social security and consumer information.
The new service is to be based at Inverbervie’s medical practice, and can be accessed by booking an appointment on 01569 766578.
Manager Jane Neilson-Adams confirmed the office was opening because of additional funding being made available from the European Social Fund and the Fairer Scotland Fund.
She said: “We are in a position to make a long-term commitment to the communities we serve throughout Kincardine and Mearns and we are keen to support and work with people and organisations in the area.
Laurencekirk’s citizens advice can be accessed at Mearns Academy Community Campus on Wednesday afternoons.
