Fire crews called back to north-east boat as flames reignite

Firefighters have been called back to a blaze at a north-east port.
Fire and rescue crews spent the day tackling the flames on the Ardent II at Peterhead’s Port Henry Harbour after reports of the incident at 5.39am.
About 40 firefighters were called from Peterhead, Maud, Ellon and Fraserburgh after the alarm was raised, along with the town’s lifeboat and the coastguard.
The blaze was believed to be under control earlier this evening, with crews beginning to pump water from the vessel.
However three appliances have now been called back into action after the fire reignited.
A fire and rescue spokesman said an incident support unit was also at the scene.
He added: “We are back firefighting again. We have had crews there all day”.
UPDATE: Firefighters are now dampening down the boat, but will be on the scene “all night and into tomorrow morning”.
