A generous donation has been made to a project which aims to support former service personnel.
The £400 cheque, which came from the Westhill & Skene Lions Club, was handed to the AberdeenshireSALUTES organisation at a recent presentation night.
Dave Thomson, the charity’s project development officer, gave a talk which highlighted the issues and concerns that affect individuals, and sometimes their family members, after leaving the Armed Services.
The project began with an overall objective of providing all local past and present ex-service veterans and their families with a single point of contact for support.
The project also aims to promote comradeship, community, welfare and well-being throughout Aberdeenshire.
The donation from the Westhill & Skene Lions Club will be used to further promote and develop the project within the area.
Mr Thomson is also appealing for any ex-service personnel from Aberdeenshire to help expand the project by completing a short, non-personal survey that can be found on their Facebook page.
