Police were called to the city’s Cairngorm Drive around 3.15pm on Monday after reports a schoolboy had been struck by a green Kawasaki motorbike. The youngster was taken to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Yesterday 18-year-old Jake Henry appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court in connection with the incident. He is alleged to have caused the child serious injury by driving dangerously, without insurance and without a licence. He is also accused of failing to report a accident to police and failing to identify himself to officers as the driver of the bike. The teen also faces a charge of acting in a threatening and abusive manner. Henry, of Aberdeen, made no plea when he appeared before Sheriff Morag McLaughlin. He was committed for further examination and released on bail.
