Police say the accident took place in Ellon’s bridge over the River Ythan. It happened just after 10.30am on Bridge Street in Ellon. The bridge over the River Ythan has been closed in both directions. Police are diverting traffic. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “An elderly woman has been hit by a car. “She was still said to be awake and breathing after the accident.”
