An annual Aberdeen festival returns this weekend featuring running races, a charity parade, musical performances throughout the city centre- and live wrestling in Union Terrace Gardens.
The Celebrate Aberdeen showcase is in its sixth year supported by the city council and Aberdeen Inspired.
In previous years Celebrate Aberdeen has seen more than 4,000 people take part in the weekend, which showcases one of the biggest foot parades of the year in the city.
Musical performances will be held throughout the weekend in Union Terrace Gardens, Aberdeen Central Library, Bon Accord Centre, Trinity Centre and Union Square and on The Green, St Nicholas Street and the roof garden above the St Nicholas Centre.
Local business woman Morven Mackenzie, who is the driving force behind Celebrate Aberdeen, said: “So many people come together to make Celebrate Aberdeen happen. It really is quite incredible and a truly wonderful experience. Each year we are touched by the number of people who want to get involved.
“We are grateful to have this opportunity to showcase Aberdeen’s third sector by way of the parade. Charities often help us through our most difficult times and for many it is a constant struggle for funds to keep providing these crucial services.
“Providing a platform for them to make their voices heard is one way to help, and many forge valuable links with local businesses as a result of being involved in Celebrate Aberdeen.”
