Firefighters free woman from car after crash on Aberdeen street

A woman had to be freed from her car by firefighters following a crash on an Aberdeen street earlier today.
The driver of a silver Vauxhall Corsa was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the collision with a black Renault Modus on the city’s Spital Walk.
The accident took place at about 1pm with police, fire and rescue and ambulance services all called.
Nobody is said to have been in the Renault at the time of the incident.
Two fire crews from Aberdeen Central were called to the incident where they freed the woman from the Vauxhall.
She is said to have suffered minor injuries and was taken to ARI.
A police spokesman said: “At 1pm police, fire and rescue and ambulance services were called to the Spital in Aberdeen in relation to a two vehicle road traffic collision.
“One vehicle tipped on its side. The driver was cut out by the fire and rescue service. There are no serious injuries but she is off to hospital.”
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “We got the call at just after 1pm and sent two units from Aberdeen Central. We helped release the casualty from the vehicle.”
