A group of north-east pensioners celebrated a major milestone yesterday.
Residents at Airlie Gardens sheltered housing complex in Banff celebrated its 30th anniversary.
To celebrate, operators Hanover Scotland organised an afternoon tea for the residents to enjoy.
They were treated to a spread of scones, vol-au-vents, chocolate eclairs and a celebratory cake.
And the facility’s most senior resident was given the chance to cut the first piece.
Mary Alley, 96, has lived at the complex for more than six years.
She said is had been a “delightful” afternoon, adding: “I have been very happy at Airlie Gardens and celebrations such as today’s make life here all the more special.”
Jacqui Degnan-Scott, housing manager, added: “It is great that we were able to organise this special celebration to mark the site’s 30th anniversary, afternoon tea has been a lovely treat for the residents.
“It has been a great excuse to come together for a party and I look forward to the next opportunity we get to celebrate a milestone anniversary.”
