Officers have appealed for witnesses after a man was left fighting for his life after being hit by a bus yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on Union Street, close to its junction with Holburn Street, shortly after 10pm.
The road was partially shut until around 2am while collision investigators examined the area.
The 59-year-old man who was knocked down by the bus was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he remains this morning in critical condition.
The incident involved a Stagecoach, which was travelling to Stonehaven.
A Stagecoach spokesman said: “Initial reports suggest that a pedestrian walked out in front of one of our services on Union Street at Holburn Junction in Aberdeen around 9.50pm yesterday.
“Our first thoughts are for the welfare of the pedestrian.
“We will also assist the police in any way that we can with their investigation into the incident.”
Anyone with information or anyone who saw the incident is asked to phone the police 0n 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
