Thousands of art lovers flocked to the Beach Ballroom this weekend for Aberdeen’s sixth annual art fair.
The event was hailed to be a great success after the exhibitions on display managed to raise £3000 for north-east charity the Archie Foundation.
Organiser Gerry Muldoon said it was great to see so many in attendance.
He said: “With Friday’s preview evening attracting a record number in excess of five hundred people and many thousands attending over the weekend, the feedback from both exhibitors and those attending has been very positive indeed.
“Our sincere thanks also to our sponsors TAQA without whose support events like these would not be possible.
“And it’s with great delight that TAQA and GM Events are able to announce that over £3000 was raised for The ARCHIE Foundation over the weekend.
“We are also very grateful to the exhibitors whose hard work and creativity has made this event a mainstay in Scotland’s cultural calendar and we now look forward to Aberdeen Art Fair in 2017.”
Gordon Robertson, who works at exhibitors Robertson Fine Art, said the change of venue from the Music Hall was key to the success.
He said: “The change of venue has been fantastic actually.
“I was a little bit nervous as I didn’t know quite what the move from the Music Hall would bring but the reaction has been incredible with Friday’s preview the best we’ve had at any art fair we’ve exhibited at.
“With Gerard Burns painting live and attracting huge crowds, it could not have gone better.”
