Seven fire units are currently combating a blaze in a building in Macduff.
Emergency services were just after 9pm after smoke was seen coming out of the Harley’s Restaurant and bowling alley on Old Gamrie Rd in the town.
A total of five units, a height vehicle and a support unit have been sent to the scene.
A fire service spokesman said: “There are no reports of any injuries.”
One person who witnessed the fire break out was Emma Robertson, who described it as “devastating” for the business.
She said:”I was visiting my mother when I was leaving opened the back door because there was a burning smell and couldn’t see anything from thick black smoke, so I went to have a look to where it was coming from and just along the road the building was a blaze flames coming out the roof,and toxic smell of smoke was unbelievable covering the town of Macduff.
“When we stood there we were passed by the second and third fire engine at high speed and police were not far behind along with the ambulance,devastating news for the local business and the town.”
Update: A fire service spokeswoman said: “Some of our units will be leaving the scene soon but we expect to have a pump there for most of the night.”
