A man and a woman have gone on trial accused of assaulting a young girl.
Alison Crockett, 52, and 38-year-old Shaun Massie have gone on trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, facing charges of wilfully ill-treating a schoolgirl on various occasions.
Crockett allegedly pushed her to the ground and hit her, repeatedly slapping her on the head and shoved her down a flight of stairs.
Prosecutors also claim that she struck her on the body with a frying pan and injured her.
Massie is said to have picked the girl up then forcibly thrown her into the back of a car.
Yesterday, the young girl – who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court she had been assaulted on different dates.
She said a woman called Ally hurt her with a device used to scan packages when she was travelling in a vehicle with her.
“I was in the back seat, she was driving the car,” she said.
“I was giving her the parcel because by accident she went to the wrong side and then when I gave her the parcel she just decided to hit me.
“She hit my arm.”
The girl also claimed that the woman hit her on the top of her shoulder with a frying pan.
They are both charged with assaulting the girl, repeatedly shouting and swearing and making abusive remarks towards her between April 22, 2013 and November 18, 2014.
Crockett, of 1 Lower Crowhillock, Kinneff, and Massie, of 1 Crowhillock Farm, Kinneff, deny all charges against them. The trial continues today.
