Rural Aberdeenshire village in line for speedy 4G coverage

One of Aberdeenshire’s most rural communities will soon receive the fastest possible mobile phone coverage.
O2 has announced plans to launch 4G services in Braemar, which should provide highspeed mobile internet to its customers in the Deeside community.
The firm has revealed that work to implement the service, and also improve its existing 2G and 3G network in the area, will start on Monday, September 19.
The new service should become available in the subsequent weeks. But O2 last night warned of “intermittent service” during the works.
Derek McManus, chief operating officer of Telefónica UK, said: “O2 customers in Braemar will soon be able to experience faster mobile internet on their devices such as streaming high-definition TV, shopping on the go, and video calling.
“For our business customers, 4G is all about working more effectively. They can work remotely, access Cloud services, collaborate using apps and so on. 4G will make everything easier for them.”
