A man has admitted stealing a charity tin and its contents from an Aberdeen supermarket.
Philip Walker appeared from custody at the city sheriff court yesterday and pled guilty to taking the box from Sainsbury’s on Garthdee Road on Tuesday.
The court heard that a witness had alerted a member of staff when she saw the 51-year-old acting suspiciously. And when CCTV footage was viewed, they saw him taking the charity tin.
The court heard that Walker, of Inchbrae Drive, Aberdeen, came back to return the box, which was empty.
When he was searched, he was found to have £34.37 of change on his possession.
Sheriff Christine McCrossan ordered him to carry out 30 hours of unpaid work within the next six months.
