Princess Anne has cancelled all public engagements and been rushed to hospital after becoming unwell.
The Princess Royal is understood to be undergone tests at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after “feeling unwell”.
Buckingham Palace said the Queen’s daughter had been suffering from a bad chest infection and confirmed that engagements had been cancelled at the advice of doctors.
The princess had been staying at Balmoral after attending the Braemer Gathering at the weekend and had been scheduled to visit HM Prison Grampian yesterday.
A spokesman said: “On doctors’ orders she has cancelled her engagements for the coming week.
“She is resting privately at home.”
