The science behind why certain wines and foods mix well together will be explored at this year’s TechFest.
A special food pairing event has been arranged at Rye and Soda in Aberdeen on Monday where people will learn about the basics of matching food and drink.
They will be joined by Adrian Gomes from catering company 10 Dollar Shake who will provide a five-course meal, complemented by wine.
The event begins at 7pm and is only available to over-18s.
Mr Gomes said: “I’m looking forward to playing around with some interesting food and drink pairings and keeping them to simple pairings that can be re-created in an everyday cooking-at-home scenario.
“I’ll be discussing flavour combinations, the five basic tastes and classic pairings, along with some unusual ones.
“It should be a fun and educational event.”
Techfest is sponsored by BP and Shell and aims to stimulate an interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.
