Two by-elections will be held in November following a turbulent few months for Aberdeenshire Council.
Council co-leader Martin Kitts-Hayes quit last month, after becoming embroiled in row over his decision to walk out of a international conference because he was unhappy with the accommodation.
The Inverurie councillor initially stood down as co-leader, but later decided to resign altogether.
And in August, Banff councillor Ian Gray died, after a long battle with cancer.
The SNP member served the local community for more than nine years.
Now residents in the Banff and Inverurie areas will go to the polls to select their new councillors.
Both by-elections have been set for Thursday, November 3.
Votes will be counted at the Garioch Sports Centre in Inverurie and a result for both wards is expected to be announced the next day.
The deadline for nominations for candidates is October 3 at 4pm.
