Aberdeen council is seeking emergency talks with bus bosses and the Scottish government over the withdrawal of services.
A motion accusing First Bus of “putting profit before the needs of Aberdeen citizens” was passed unanimously by the finance committee.
The firm says the X40 and 11 services are to be axed from the busy Kingswells suburb because not enough passengers use them.
Chief executive Angela Scott has been instructed to write to transport minister Humza Yousaf and First Bus seeking the chance to discuss what the cross-party group described as an “unacceptable situation”.
The impact on disabled travellers is also to be assessed by a panel headed by Dame Anee Begg – who could be invited to join the talks.
The former Labour MP was recently appointed to chair the Disability Equity Partnership.
